What to See and Do in Paris, France

Paris is considered of the most beautiful cities in the world. One of the main attractions is the beaver dam, which is an artificial construct made by the animals in their natural environment. It is a small insignificant tourist spot from the eyes of tourist people, but something worth looking forward to on a nice chilly morning in the comfort of your sweater jacket. What you need to know that the major tourist attractions in Paris are so many, you could write a book on it. Everything from French fries to torture devices (no, we’re not talking about debt collectors) have their root in French history.

Take the Louvre for example. It is one of the foremost museums in the world, also being the world’s largest museum and a historic testimonial in Paris. Situated on the Right sided bank of the Seine River, it boasts of having nearly 35000 items from pre-history to the 21st century are shown over a square footage of 60,600 square meters. It also has the conceit of being the world’s most visited site as a museum, getting more than 9.7 million visitors.

The museum is built in the Loure Palace, initially built to serve as afortress in the late twelfth century under Philip II. Leftovers of the fortress are evident in the vault of the museum. The collection is separated among eight curatorial department in the Louvre such as the Egyptian antiquity, Near Eastern antiquity; Greek, Roman and Etruscan antiquity, Islamic art, Decorative Arts and Sculpture, Paintings, Drawings and Prints.

The Louvre is most famously known as the house that hosts one of the most famous paintings in the world, the Mona Lisa. Leonardo Da Vinci’s masterpiece has been put up on display and is a symbol of pure beauty.

Then we come to the main construct of Gustave Eiffel for the 1889 Universal Exposition, the Eiffel Tower. The Eiffel Tower symbolizes Paris itself and is a grand tower that symbolizes nothing but architectural brilliance, genius intellect, and the best of the best in terms of historical significance. The Eiffel Tower is nothing but the standalone monument that encompasses a whole country. It is the pride and honor of Parisians the world over and is a remarkable feat in the history of architecture, showing the end result of the joint work of thousands of people and architects alike.

The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants lining the first and the second level. One can easily purchase tickets to view the entire structure by stairs or lift to the first and second levels. The climb from the ground level to the first level is over 300 steps, similar to the climb from the first level to the second. It is usually only accessible by lift.

There is no standard against which the Eiffel tower can be measured. To go there and view the sights is but a thing of glory, and a factor of amazement to the eyes and the mind.

Then we have the Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral, Paris’s 12th-century, historic catholic cathedral on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité in the fourth arrondissement of Paris, France. It is one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, and it is among the largest and most well-known church buildings in the world. The naturalism of its sculptures and the stained glass windows are a must see. There is no escape from the beauty of Paris.
